Nature and Scope
The Lead Oracle Retail (Retek) Technical Consultant is involved in all aspects of system integration and works as part of a team responsible for providing technical solutions to meet the client needs
Relationships
The Lead Oracle Retail (Retek) Technical Consultant reports to the respective Project Manager and may mentor less senior team members.
Responsibilities
- Develops technical solutions to the goals of the project by creating the architectural design and development standards to support the implementation
- Plans, conducts, and supervise complex information systems assignments; including the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for future work.
- Analyzes, designs, and prepares program specifications to support a broad range of business systems requirements and technical specifications.
- Designs and applies new methods and procedures.
- Communicates and reviews project related status and issues with clients and other departments.
- Assigns and reviews the work and coordinates the activities of assigned staff; including scheduling work to meet completion dates as well as apprising management of project status and outstanding issues.
- Analyzes, revises, and updates existing programs and related documentation.
- Creates necessary end user documentation.
- Works with team to understand the clients needs and business model and the challenges faced in dealing with interfaces, conversions and modifications within a Oracle Retail (Retek) system integration project are critical.
- Utilizes data modeling tools, data/system architecture and performance tuning processes.
- Mentors less senior team members to assist them in developing the skills required to grow and mature within AI’s structure.
- Provides input to the review and evaluation of personnel performance
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma, Computer Science
- Minimum 5 years experience with Oracle Retail (Retek).
- Preference will be given to candidates with Oracle Retail (Retek), JDA, SAP Retail, Island Pacific, Aldata or other retail merchandising systems
- 7 to 10 years of broad IT experience
- Must have lead a technical team
- Strong understanding of system architecture and standards
- Strong Oracle technology expertise
- Minimum 4 years PL/SQL and SQL
- Minimum 4 years with any one of the following: C, C++, Pro*C
- Minimum 3 years ORACLE Forms/Reports
- Minimum 2 years Java based technologies J2EE, Java Beans, JSP
- Minimum 2 years working with Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOA, OOD)
- Ability to write technical specifications and documentation
- Knowledge of SeeBeyond, Microstrategy and data warehousing concepts an asset
- Strong understanding of system integration methodologies
- Able to travel weekly to client sites in North America
- Able to travel to client sites internationally as required.
