What you will learn:

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to use Oracle Retail (Retek) Price Management’s (RPM) initial pricing, manual pricing and semi-automated strategy-based pricing functionality. The course allows participants to understand how RPM can be used in the process of merchandise price management.

RPM Fundamentals explains the purpose of RPM and provides an overview of the price management process and application navigation.

The course begins by outlining the foundation data used throughout RPM and how RPM is used to create manual price changes, clearance price changes and promotions.

The course continues to explain and demonstrate how RPM can be used to present items for pricing review and propose new prices based upon pricing strategies.

Participants will receive hands-on practice of the main topics.

Course Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of RPM and the price management functionality
  • Administer and set-up RPM foundation data -location zone groups, primary zone groups (for initial pricing)
  • Manually create and maintain retail price changes, clearance price changes and promotions
  • Create and maintain deal-based vendor funded promotions
  • Define aggregation levels. Create and maintain reason and link codes
  • Associate pricing attributes to item/locations - link codes and market basket codes
  • Create and maintain the pricing calendar, candidate rules and rule variables
  • Define pricing strategies - area differentials, margin strategy, competitive strategy and clearance strategy
  • Use the pricing worksheet to review items, suggested prices, perform what-if analysis, edit and approve price changes
  • Explain RPM system options and system defaults
